The Midi Skirt has returned to the fashion scene! This trend was popular in the 1940s and has been resurfaced for Spring 2011 by contemporary designers including Miuccia Prada for Miu Miu and Frida Giannini for Gucci. When styled correctly, the midi skirt has been proclaimed to be the epitome of sophistication and elegance. Ashley Olsen (as pictured above) was spotted by the paparazzi in New York wearing a navy midi skirt. Fashion critiques were clearly not impressed with Ashley's styling efforts claiming it looked "more Amish than Hollywood". Personally I oppose this view. I believe the length of the skirt compliments her height of 5'11" and the crisp, white collared blouse has assisted in accentuating one of her best physical features.
